WatchDog Lite is a process monitoring app for Android that will let you know what apps are using up your memory.
If you notice something draining resources on your Android phone, you might want to use an application like WatchDog Lite to find out what is wrong. The application divides its functions into 3 areas: Stats, Alerts and CPU.
Stats will give you a general overview of your system, covering areas such as CPU being used, free memory and total memory. Under CPU, meanwhile, you will see a list of all of the apps currently running. Here you will be able to see how long each has been running, how much memory it is using and also have the opportunity to kill or whitelist it.
Limit memory use
If you look at WatchDog Lite's configuration options, you'll be able to set some important limits - particularly the threshold for when the app warns you about runaway processes. You can also select how often you want WatchDog Lite to check your processes. You can select real time monitoring, but be aware that this will make WatchDog Lite itself take up far more resources.
Once you have set WatchDog Lite's thresholds, you'll see any runway processes in the Alerts area and will be able to deal with them accordingly. WatchDog Lite is a solid application that is both functional and easy to use. Even so, most users won't need it unless they have a specific problem - always remember that installing an application "just in case" is just another program eating up your memory.
WatchDog Lite is a great tool if you have a memory hog but you just can't figure out where it is hiding.
